Wonder For All Arts Foundation is launching a community mural at The Boys & Girls Club of Gloucester County in Glassboro.

Every day, young people grow, learn, and build confidence inside these walls.  This mural will reflect that energy on the outside.

We’re inviting the community to help bring it to life.

Why This Project Matters

The Boys & Girls Club of Gloucester County serves hundreds of local children each year through after-school programs, summer enrichment, mentorship, and creative exploration. It is a space where young people build confidence, develop leadership skills, and discover their potential.

This mural is more than an art installation.  It is an investment in visibility, pride, and possibility.  By transforming the exterior of the building, we are creating a landmark that reflects the growth happening inside.

The design incorporates the Club’s guiding messages: Great Futures Start Here and Come Grow With Us, woven into a visual story that celebrates resilience, creativity, and community.

When young people see themselves reflected in their environment, they rise to meet it.

Youth Mural Workshop Experience

This project includes a structured, hands-on learning experience led by mural artist Alysia Mackenzie, bringing over 20 years of professional mural experience to the youth of the Boys & Girls Club of Glassboro.

Students will not simply “help paint.” They will be guided through the real process of creating a large-scale public artwork.

Participants will:
• Develop ideas through writing and sketching
• Learn foundational design principles such as layout, cropping, and visual balance
• Understand how large-scale murals are planned and executed
• Practice proper brush handling and paint application techniques and learn how to care for professional materials
• Contribute their voice within a cohesive, thoughtfully designed mural framework
Paint sessions will span multiple days to ensure meaningful engagement and focused participation.

This is more than a mural.

It is an introduction to creative thinking, craftsmanship, and confidence, built directly into a permanent public artwork.
